If you do not already have a teaching job, or maybe you won’t have a teaching job next school year, this is the time of the year that everyone looks forward to: interview season.

If you are a seasoned teacher that has had several jobs already, you probably feel pretty comfortable about what you might say in an interview.  The questions that will be asked of you.  The questions you will ask them.  Even what to do after the interview.  Well, feel lucky, because not everyone is in your shoes.

I wrote this article after an interview I had at a school district. I am pleased to announce that they offered me a job. They let me choose which position I would like to accept. I chose the general music k-8 position. The curriculum is in place already and there are no after school commitments. This makes it so I can continue working with my percussion ensemble and drumline.
My employment is still pending until the June Board meeting, so I will wait until then to announce which school district.
